BOM CSV Settings
BOM CSV settings control which kinds of parts are included when you export a bill of materials as CSV. You choose which component types to include and whether work steps are exported alongside them.
Access these settings via Settings → Client → BOM CSV settings.
What BOM CSV Settings Control
The BOM CSV settings dialog lets you control:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Joining | Include joined assemblies in the export |
| Sheet metal parts | Include sheet metal parts in the export |
| Tube parts | Include tube parts in the export |
| Purchase parts | Include purchase parts in the export |
| Export work steps | Include each part's work steps as additional rows in the export |
TIP
Untick a component type to leave it out of the CSV entirely — useful if you only need, for example, purchase parts for a procurement system.
How BOM CSV Relates to the BOM
The BOM CSV export is one of the two export formats for the bill of materials. The other format is JSON, available through Local Export and ERP Export.

When to Use BOM CSV
BOM CSV is most useful when you need to:
- Share a parts list with someone who works in a spreadsheet application
- Import the BOM into a purchasing or procurement system
- Limit the export to specific component types (for example, purchase parts only)
