Status Bar
The status bar runs along the bottom of the WSi window. It shows persistent information about your session and project.
Session status indicator
On the right side of the status bar, a small icon shows your connection state:
| Icon | State | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 🟢 (green) | Online | Connected to the WSi server |
| 🔴 (red) | Offline | Working offline — no server connection |
The session status label is hidden by default and only appears when relevant.
Item Counts
Three count labels on the right side show totals for the current project:
| Label | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Articles | Total articles in project / currently selected in the tree |
| Worksteps | Total work steps / currently selected |
| Stock material | Total stock material entries / currently selected |
The counts update as you select different articles or nodes.
Usage Info
A widget on the left side of the status bar shows context-sensitive tips about what you can do with the currently selected item. The hints change based on what is selected in the graph or tree.
Update Notifications
When WSi starts, it checks for a newer version. If an update is available, an icon appears in the status bar. Hover over the icon to see the version number of the available update.
Click the icon to open a download dialog for that version.
To review what changed in a release, use Help → History — the change log lists release notes separately from the update icon.
INFO
WSi checks for updates by fetching versions.txt from the update server. If your network blocks outbound connections, you may not see update notifications.
File Name
The name of the currently open project file is shown on the far left of the status bar, as a permanent label.
