Status Bar
The status bar runs along the bottom of the WSi window. It shows persistent information about your session and project.
Session status indicator
On the right side of the status bar, a small icon shows your connection state:
| Icon | State | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 🟢 (green) | Online | Connected to the WSi server |
| 🔴 (red) | Offline | Working offline — no server connection |
The session status label is hidden by default and only appears when relevant.
Item Counts
Three count labels on the left side show totals for the current project:
| Label | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Articles | Total articles in project / currently selected in the tree |
| Worksteps | Total work steps / currently selected |
| Stock material | Total stock material entries / currently selected |
When items are selected, their number appears in parentheses after each total. The counts update as you select different articles or nodes. You can hide these counts under Settings → Client → GUI configuration.
Usage Info
To the right of the item counts, context-sensitive tips on controlling the 3D and 2D views appear while the mouse pointer is over a 3D or 2D view.
Update Notifications
When WSi starts, it checks for a newer version. If an update is available, the cloud icon on the right of the status bar turns orange. For larger updates (such as 2.5 to 2.6), a second, black cloud appears, and for a new major version, a flame icon. Hover over the icon to see the version number of the available update.
Click the icon to open a download dialog for that version.
To review what changed in a release, use Help → History — the change log lists release notes separately from the update icon.
INFO
WSi checks for updates by fetching versions.txt from the update server. If your network blocks outbound connections, you may not see update notifications.
