Cost Analysis Panel
The Cost Analysis panel shows a comprehensive cost breakdown for the entire project — all articles, all work steps, material consumption, and pricing. It updates whenever the project data changes.
What it displays
The panel renders a rich text document containing the full cost analysis:
- Per-article costs — material cost, manufacturing cost, and selling price for each article
- Work step costs — setup time, unit time, and per-step costs across all operations
- Surcharges — project-level surcharges applied to the final pricing
- Quantities and totals — scale price table showing how cost evolves at different quantity tiers
The exact content depends on which processes are active in your project. For example, if sheet cutting and bending are configured, the analysis includes nesting information, scrap, and per-bend costs.
Relationship to Other Panels
The Cost Analysis panel is read-only — it displays the project-level summary. For article-specific cost details, see the Details panel (select an article in the Tree View to see its breakdown).
The Cost Analysis panel is tabbed together on the right side with Details and Messages — click a tab to switch between them.
Triggering a Recalculation
Costs are recalculated automatically whenever you change a process parameter, material, or quantity. To force a manual recalculation, run the relevant process on your parts again from the Tree View or Graph View.
Editing cost parameters
To change how a node's cost is calculated without changing its geometry, right-click the node in the Graph View and select Edit Calc Parameters or Edit Calc User Input.
- Edit Calc Parameters — opens the Calculation Configuration dialog where you write custom expressions, add variables, and assign entry points for setup time, unit time, material costs, constraint, or custom values.
- Edit Calc User Input — enters custom calculation values that override the database defaults for this specific node. Use this when a part requires non-standard parameters that would otherwise need a custom database entry.
Both actions update the cost breakdown in the Cost Analysis panel and the per-node costs shown in the Details panel.
