Tapping
Tapping (thread cutting) operations in WSi use two database tables. Screw threads defines which threads are available; Tapping parameters defines how long they take to produce. These tables are edited in the Database Management window.
Screw threads
Defines available screw thread specifications (ISO M, UNC, etc.) and their drill hole and depth parameters.

| Tapping drill hole diameter | Core drill diameter before tapping (mm) |
| Minimal depth | Minimum thread depth (mm) |
| Symmetric tolerance | Tolerance for symmetric thread positioning (mm) |
Tapping parameters
Defines the unit time per mm of thread depth for each combination of process and thread type. WSi uses this table to calculate the machining time for tapping operations.

When a tapping operation is added, WSi looks up the matching Tapping parameters row and calculates: Unit time rate × thread depth.
