3D View Settings
Control how the mouse and keyboard interact with the 3D views — the Assembly View, 3D Input, and 3D Output.
Open via Settings → Client → 3D View.
Mouse Buttons
Assign actions to each mouse button:
| Button | Default action | Options |
|---|---|---|
| Left button | Rotate | Rotate, Select, Pan, Zoom |
| Middle button | Pan | Rotate, Select, Pan, Zoom |
| Right button | Select | Rotate, Select, Pan, Zoom |
| Scroll wheel | Zoom | Zoom in/out |
Modifier Keys
Hold a modifier key (such as Shift or Ctrl) while using the mouse to temporarily switch the active tool — for example, holding Shift while left-clicking might switch from Rotate to Pan.
Projection
Choose how the 3D scene is rendered:
| Projection | Best for |
|---|---|
| Perspective | General viewing — objects appear with natural depth |
| Orthographic | Technical review — parallel lines stay parallel, no perspective distortion |
Zoom Inversion
By default, scrolling the mouse wheel upward zooms in and downward zooms out. Enable Zoom inversion to reverse this behaviour — upward scroll zooms out, downward zooms in.
