License Key & Database Name ​

WSi requires a licence key to run. The key is provided by WSoptics when you purchase or renew your subscription — contact your sales representative to receive yours. The key activates the features included in your current plan.

Enter your licence key on first run ​

When you start WSi for the first time (or after a reinstallation), a login dialog appears automatically.

  1. Enter your licence key in the field. The key is a 32-character code in UUID format: xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx.
  2. Click OK. WSi connects to the licensing server to verify the key.
  3. If the key is valid, you are prompted to choose a database by name.

TIP

The licence key field accepts a key in UUID format. If the OK button stays disabled, check that you have the complete key — it should contain five groups of characters separated by hyphens.

Choosing a database ​

After activating your licence, WSi asks you to select a database by name. The database contains all your projects, pricing rules, materials, and process configurations.

  • If you are connecting to an existing company database, ask your administrator for the correct database name.
  • If you are setting up WSi for the first time, your sales representative at WSoptics will provide the database name for your organisation.
  • You can switch databases later via Settings → Client → Reset → Change Database.

Change your licence key ​

If your organisation renews or changes its subscription:

  1. Click Settings → Client → Reset → Change Licence.
  2. Confirm the restart when prompted — unsaved data is lost.
  3. WSi restarts and shows the licence key dialog. Enter the new key and click OK.

WARNING

Restarting WSi discards any unsaved work. Save your project before changing the licence key.

What happens if the licence server is unreachable ​

If WSi cannot reach the licensing server, you see a message explaining the problem. Check your internet connection and try again. If the issue persists, contact your sales representative at WSoptics.

View your current licence key ​

Your active licence key is shown in Help → About. This helps you confirm which key is currently in use if you need to share it with WSoptics support.
