Single-Part Import

Single-part import processes one file at a time — a STEP, DXF, or GEO file — and adds it to the project as a new article.

Step-by-Step

1. Choose File → Import files (or press Ctrl+I) to select a file from your computer. The file is imported in addition to the files already loaded in WSi. If you choose File → Open file (or press Ctrl+O) instead, the new file replaces the current project.
2. The part is added to your project tree as a new article.

After Import

• For DXF and GEO files, the 2D editor always opens. There you can edit the sheet thickness, the part dimensions, and the contours, and split files containing several parts (multi-DXF) into individual parts.
• You can edit the article later by double-clicking its name in the Tree View or right-clicking and choosing an edit action.
• For STEP files, WSi extracts the assembly structure and creates the corresponding graph nodes.
