Client Settings
Client settings control how WSi looks and behaves for you — they are personal to your workstation and independent of any project. Access them via Settings → Client.
Language and Units
Settings → Client → Localization settings
Controls the language of the interface, your preferred unit system, and how currency is displayed.
See Localization Settings for the full reference.
3D View Controls
Settings → Client → 3D View and Control
Configures how you navigate the 3D views with your mouse and keyboard — projection, buttons, and modifiers.
See 3D View Settings for the full reference.
GUI display options
Settings → Client → Edit GUI configuration
Controls what information is shown in the document graph and tree views — cost display, duration format, and count visibility.
See GUI Config for the full reference.
Auto-Save
Settings → Client → Edit autosave configuration
Keeps a backup of your work at regular intervals.
See Autosave for the full reference.
Nesting
Settings → Client → Nestor settings
Configure how parts are arranged on a sheet during nesting — gaps, strategy, and scrap thresholds.
See Nestor Settings for the full reference.
Screw thread assignment
Settings → Client → Automatic screw thread assignment
Set default rules for how WSi assigns tap sizes, drill diameters, and thread types to holes.
See Screw Thread Assignment for the full reference.
Script Directory
Settings → Client → Set local script directory
Points WSi to a folder on your machine that contains configuration scripts used by your organisation (CAD import templates, ERP integration scripts, etc.). Contact your sales representative at WSoptics to obtain the correct directory for your setup.
Reset local script directory clears this setting.
ERP Settings
Settings → Client → Local ERP settings
Configures the connection between WSi and your ERP system.
| Menu item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Configuration ERP integration | Sets the server URL and export format for ERP export |
| Configuration ERP credentials | Stores authentication details for the ERP server — learn more |
These are pre-configured by your administrator or WSoptics sales representative — you generally do not need to change them manually. See ERP Export for the full export workflow.
Other client settings
Settings → Client also provides access to:
- CAD import settings — Control how DXF, STEP, and other files are imported
- Project export settings — Configure default export options
- BOM CSV settings — Configure the bill of materials CSV export format
- Keyboard shortcuts — View and customise keyboard shortcuts
Reset
Settings → Client → Reset opens a sub-menu with options to change the database, replace the licence key, or perform a full client reset. See Reset Options for details.
