Messages Panel
The Messages panel displays warnings, errors, and informational messages generated during cost calculation and graph processing.
The Messages panel displays a running log of events, warnings, and errors generated during import, processing, and export. It is a read-only view — you can read and search the messages, but you cannot edit them.
What it shows
The panel receives log messages from the WSi processing pipeline. Messages are colour-coded by severity:
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Information | Normal progress messages — files loaded, processes started, calculations completed |
| Warning | Non-fatal issues that may affect results — for example, a suggested material differs from the current selection |
| Error | Problems that prevented an operation from completing — for example, a file could not be read |
Each message includes a timestamp and the source of the message, so you can trace when and where it originated.
Relationship to Other Panels
The Messages panel is tabbed together on the right side with Details and Cost Analysis — click a tab to switch between them.
It updates automatically whenever the processing pipeline generates a new message. You do not need to refresh the panel manually.
Clearing Messages
To clear the message log, use the relevant toolbar button. This removes all messages from the display but does not affect the project data.
