Article Context Menu

Right-clicking an article in the Tree View opens a context menu with five actions. The available actions depend on which articles are selected and their type.

Opening the Menu

To open the context menu, right-click on one or more articles in the Tree View. The menu appears at the cursor position with a subset of these actions — some items are greyed out depending on your selection.

Actions

ActionWhat it doesEnabled when
Edit ArticlesOpens the Article Bulk Editor dialog to modify selected articles at onceAt least one article selected, and none are semimanufactured
Edit QuantityOpens a spinbox to set the quantity for selected articlesAt least one article selected, and all selected articles are terminating (each ends in a node with no outgoing edges)
Edit Scale ValuesOpens the scale value editor for pricing selected articlesAt least one article selected, and none are semimanufactured
DeleteDeletes the selected articles from the projectAt least one article selected, and none are semimanufactured
Edit AttachmentsOpens the file attachment manager for a single articleExactly one article selected, and it is not semimanufactured

Why items are greyed out

Some menu items may appear greyed out. This happens for two reasons:

  • Semimanufactured articles — Several actions (Edit articles, Edit scale values, Delete) are disabled when any selected article is semimanufactured. Semimanufactured articles are intermediate parts that feed into other articles and should not be edited or deleted independently.
  • Terminating vs non-terminating — Edit quantity only works when all selected articles are terminating, meaning each article's last graph node has no outgoing edges. These articles produce a physical part that ends in your assembly.

Keyboard Shortcut

You can delete selected articles using Ctrl+Shift+D as an alternative to the context menu.
